Change of mind 7 day no questions asked refund

If you change your mind for any reason, simply return your goods to the store of purchase (to our warehouse at Parkinson for online orders) in showroom condition, with original packaging and proof of purchase for a no questions asked refund. This policy does not apply to special orders, commercial orders, clearance items, laybys or financed purchases (eg: Zip Money). Our 7 days no questions asked refund policy is from date of purchase not from date goods received.

 

Please note that all care and consideration is taken when photographing products for our website and catalogue. Due to both manufacture circumstances (many of our pieces are hand made one at a time), lighting and photographic circumstances, the colours represented of products on our website and in catalogues may vary from actual product.

 

Our 7 days no questions asked refund policy does not apply to goods which have been used or damaged after delivery, or if any attempt has been made to alter the product or if they have been dropped or broken. All products must be returned in their original condition with original packaging. 


We recommend that you return the product via the same method you received the goods and that you pre pay all delivery costs. You assume any risk of lost, theft or damaged goods during transit; therefore advise you take out shipment registration of insurance with your postal carrier. Rice Furniture will not be responsible for items lost or damaged in transit if you choose not to insure.

 

Goods damaged in transit

If any goods arrive damaged when delivered, please contact Rice Furniture as soon as possible. Do not sign for your delivered goods if you are unhappy as signing for your goods signals you are satisfied with the condition. Rice Furniture will arrange to have the damaged items returned and either replaced or repaired. Damaged goods must be returned in the condition received by you with all original packaging.

 

 

Consumer guarantees

Under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and under other consumer laws applying in each State and Territory, you have the right to have goods replaced, repaired or to receive a refund where:

  • the goods are faulty
  • the goods are wrongly described
  • the goods are different from a sample shown to you; and/or
  • the goods do not do what they are supposed to do.

These consumer guarantees are implied into all consumer contracts and cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. These are in addition to any voluntary warranties offered by a manufacturer.

Please note that goods must be returned within a reasonable period and you may be asked to demonstrate that the problem with the goods was not your fault.

Consumer Guarantees do not apply where in Rice Furniture’s reasonable opinion the goods became unacceptable due to fair wear and tear, or the customer’s misuse, failure to use the goods in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, or failure to take reasonable care, or the product demonstrates intrinsic characters (as seen with our display items in-store) which is what makes our products unique.

 

 

Refunds

Refunds will be processed by Rice Furniture’s head office and will normally be processed within 3 working days.

This refund policy is not intended to exclude or limit any rights which you may have under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or equivalent State or Territory laws.

 

 

Warranty

The benefits provided in this Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of a consumer under the
Australian Consumer Law, and any other laws in relation to the products to which this Warranty relates. The
Warranty period commences from the date that the contract of sale is completed. The period of the Warranty will
be:


(a) 5 years for frames for sofas, daybeds, chaise, and armchairs;
(b) 2 years for upholstered furniture including coverings and foam,; and
(c) 1 year for all other products.


This Warranty covers the replacement or repair of any product that has a manufacturing or material defect that is
not the result of normal wear and tear, or a natural characteristic of the material used. This Warranty is not
transferable and does not cover products used for commercial purposes.


Exclusions: Subject to the Australian Consumer Law, this Warranty does not apply to any products sold as
seconds, floorstock, repaired products, or products that have a defect where this has been drawn to the
customer’s attention before the purchase of the product. In addition, this Warranty will not apply if:


(a) Repairs to a product are made or attempted by a service provider other than one approved by Rice.
(b) The product has not been used or maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions as provided
with the product or discussed at time of purchase.
(c) The customer uses the product in an abnormal manner for example if the product is abused, misused,
dropped, crushed, impacted with any hard surface, exposed to extreme heat (including fire) or cold, not
maintained properly or used after partial failure.
(d) The product has been modified, incorrectly adjusted or operated, subjected to incorrect electrical supply or
inconsistent electrical supply or used with inappropriate accessories.
(e) The product is tampered with in any way.
